Optimum Energy’s Ben Erpelding Gets ‘Consulting-Specifying Engineer

Optimum Energy, a provider of heating, ventilating and air conditioning (HVAC) software solutions that set a new standard in energy efficiency, announced that its director of engineering, Ben Erpelding, P.E., C.E.M, received the 2010 Consulting-Specifying Engineer 40 Under 40 Award.
In a release, Optimum Energy said that Erpelding was recognized for his contributions in maximizing the energy efficiency performance of commercial HVAC systems across the United States.
“Consulting-Specifying Engineer’s list recognizes the professionals that truly stand out among their peers,” said Amara Rozgus, Editor in Chief of Consulting-Specifying Engineer. “They are some of the best and brightest minds of the building industry, and we can learn a great deal from their professional achievements.”
In addition to performing more than 500 detailed energy assessments at public, commercial and industrial facilities during his 11-year career, Erpelding has overseen the engineering of all of Optimum Energy’s energy reduction projects, including the recent District Cooling optimization project at the University of Texas at Austin.
